Laboratory
The laboratory possesses:
• an extrusion department, able to produce
experimental lots and low quantities of samplings, useful
to evaluate features and applications.
• a moulding service of the necessary specimens
to carry out all the above-mentioned tests.
• a climatic chamber (23°C-50% relative
humidity) where the samples are conditioned before being
tested.
All the tests strictly follow the respective regulations,
rendering the obtained values repeatable and reproducible.
Besides the quality control tests on incoming raw
materials and finished product, the laboratory has
the possibility to carry out tests on specimens directly
obtained from the Customer's manufactured articles.
It is also possible to make simple comparisons which,
by means of empiric tests, try to simulate or reproduce
the conditions in which they will operate.
LATI is the first Italian manufacturer of Thermoplastic
materials, which has been qualified by UL to
realize in its Laboratory, according to the "Witness"
programme (surveillance) the following tests, fit
for the homologation of the Thermoplastic Compounds
"short-term properties":
- Burning tests in compliance with UL 94 Standard.
- Glow Wire tests in compliance with UL 746A
standard.
- Comparative Tracking Index tests in compliance
with UL 746A Standard.
