LATI’s answer: the new LARAMID T
To meet these requirements, LATI expands the LARAMID family with a new polymer: PA9T, an aromatic polyamide that combines thermal resistance, dimensional stability and excellent mechanical properties.
The LARAMID T series is designed for technical applications requiring robust, precise and reliable materials even beyond 160°C continuous use.
Pa9t Properties
The particular molecular structure of PA9T reduces hygroscopicity, increasing resilience, flexibility and dimensional stability compared to other PPAs.
This makes it ideal for complex, thin components with tight tolerances, ensuring:
Minimal moisture absorption (<0.5%)
Excellent thermal and mechanical stability
Superior aesthetic finish and high molding precision
Mechanical Strength and Durability
LARAMID T compounds offer high elastic modulus and tensile strength values, while maintaining surprising toughness.
Versions reinforced with glass fiber (up to 60%) and carbon fiber (up to 40%) guarantee consistent performance even under extreme conditions of fatigue, creep and vibrations.
Perfect for Challenging Environments
Thanks to hydrolysis resistance and low hygroscopicity, LARAMID T compounds maintain unchanged performance even in contact with hot water, steam and saline solutions.
PA9T therefore offers an excellent alternative to PPS in complex industrial contexts or high humidity environments, such as automotive under-the-hood or power management applications.
Precise Molding and High Aesthetics
LARAMID T is easily processed using standard PPA molding techniques.
Thanks to high flowability and controlled shrinkage, it enables the production of precise parts with thin walls, dimensional stability and excellent surface finish, reducing processing time and costs.
