Sector general overview

The world of electrical and electronic applications is complex and challenging on account of the extreme variety of design requirements. Common ones include flame retardancy and temperature resistance, mechanical strength, laser markability and reliability over time, even in extreme environmental conditions, such as the hot and humid conditions of the Far East. Other key considerations are productivity, costs and environmental impact.

LATI responds by offering structural, self-extinguishing, self-lubricating and conductive compounds based on PP, PA, PBT, PPS and PPA. Furthermore, both for traditional and halogen-free solutions, it always takes into account the need for compliance with the RoHS, REACH and WEEE regulations.

Power Distribution

MCBs, MCCBs, ELCBs and fuseboxes all belong to a vast family of devices that are required to guarantee — in all environmental conditions, and for years — resistance to fire, high currents and high voltages, as well as to impacts and thermal shocks.
For boxes and terminals, LATI provides UL and VDE approved self-extinguishing materials, with GWT and CTI ratings complying with the strictest industry regulations. These materials contain structural and self-lubricating compounds.

Connectors

From miniature plug-ins for electronics, to PCB sockets, fibre optic systems and connection devices for ultra-secure data transmission.
Strength, UL94-V0-certified self-extinguishing properties for thin parts and CTI of 600V are all features available in materials designed for high productivity, also when using multi-cavity moulds, with very thin walls and hot runner feeding.

Components

Transformer and inductor supports, housings and encapsulations, parts of switches, relays, sensors … LATI compounds have countless possible applications.
UL94-V0-certified self-extinguishing properties even for very thin parts, CTI 600V, GWITs 775°C and 960°C, strength, resistance to high temperatures and to the most extreme environmental conditions.

Lighting Engineering

From traditional solutions to the most modern devices, including powerful COB LEDs.
Thermally conductive compounds ensure cooling of ne-concept lightsources, while temperature resistance is guaranteed at temperatures of up to over 200° C.
Lightweight, reliability, exciting design possibilities and high productivity combined with safety and great performance.

Electromechanics

Electric motors transform electrical energy into motion. Devices of all sizes and types are used in actuators, regulators, pumps, industrial automation and robotics.
Crucial properties are mechanical strength and wear resistance, resistance to temperature and flame and, nowadays, antistaticity and thermal conductivity.
Thermosets are destined, eventually, to be replaced.

Alternative Energy Sources

Energy from alternative sources, in complete safety. From photovoltaic systems, with grades UL IPT certified at 1,500V, to devices for PHEV and BEV battery charging, micro-generation, wind and smart grid systems, and even electrolytic production of hydrogen. LATI compounds cope with even the most extreme demands.
