The strongest relationships are built on common goals and values. This is the foundation of the collaboration between BTSR and LATI, a partnership that has lasted for over twenty years and looks confidently toward an increasingly innovative and sustainable future.

BTSR: Technology, Quality, and Vision since 1979

Founded in 1979 by Tiziano Barea, now CEO of the company, BTSR (Best Technology Study Research) develops advanced technological solutions for yarn tension control in highly automated industrial processes, particularly in the textile sector.
The objective is clear: improving the efficiency of yarn management systems and the quality of the finished product.

The headquarters and production facility are located in Olgiate Olona (VA), at the heart of an industry that has chosen to remain in Italy, focusing on research, development, and people.
Today, BTSR is a global reference point: it holds approximately 500 patents and has an international distribution network covering Europe, the Americas, and the Far East.

The company serves various sectors, from hosiery and knitwear to medical, technical, and industrial fields, maintaining a constant commitment to innovation, reliability, and precision.

LATI and BTSR: Technopolymers Serving Electronic Sensors

The collaboration between BTSR and LATI began in 1981, with the goal of identifying materials capable of ensuring high performance, safety, and durability even in the most challenging conditions.

BTSR devices, used in industrial environments where electrostatic charges, dust, and chemical substances are present, require resistant, conductive, and mechanically robust materials.

Compounds Chosen by BTSR

To ensure maximum efficiency of control systems, BTSR uses LATISHIELD compounds containing steel microfibers, which ensure:

  • EMI (Electro-Magnetic Interference) shielding;

  • uniform electrical conductivity;

  • protection of internal electronics in devices.

For components requiring structural rigidity and electrical conductivity, high-performance resins such as carbon fiber-reinforced PPS and PEEK are used, a solution that ensures abrasion resistance and stability even under prolonged stress.

For parts subject to impacts or vibrations, LATI provides technical elastomers that improve the material’s resilience and toughness, preventing breakage and extending component life.

Shared Values: Environmental Sustainability and Social Commitment

The partnership between BTSR and LATI is also based on a shared vision of social and environmental responsibility.

BTSR has chosen to operate in an eco-sustainable manner, reducing its environmental impact through a photovoltaic system exceeding 500 kWp at the Olgiate Olona facility and continuous monitoring of energy consumption.

The company’s social commitment is equally concrete:

  • with the BTSR Africa project, it supports missions in Guinea-Bissau, where it has built schools, kindergartens, a multi-purpose center, and a medical clinic, symbolically adopting a child for each employee;

  • with the Generazione d’Industria initiative, it promotes technical education among young people, offering scholarships and training opportunities in collaboration with the Varese Industrial Union.

LATI also actively participates in this project, sharing with BTSR the goal of connecting education and industry, to train new generations of talent.

A Future Built on Innovation, People, and Responsibility

For over twenty years, BTSR and LATI have been collaborating to combine technical excellence and ethical values, demonstrating that genuine innovation stems from shared vision, passion, and commitment.
