Effective heat transfer through parts made of polymeric materials is possible with the grades of the LATICONTHER family.
Advantages linked to thermally conductive compounds compared to the conventional metal solutions are many: from the low weight to the overall lower cost, from the extremely high chemical inertia to the linear thermal expansion coefficients comparable to those of copper and aluminum, from the simple management of waste and scraps to the versatility in terms of engineering and design.
LATICONTHER products are available on many base resins, from PP to PPS, both in CP electrically insulating and GR electrically conductive versions:
- CP: filled up to 85% with thermoconductive ceramics;
- GR: filled up to 70% with selected graphite.
The LATICONTHER proposal also includes self-extinguishing grades certified for applications in the electrical, lighting engineering and transport sectors.
Ideal applications of LATICONTHER are in the field of electronics, where, for example, the cooling of modern LED lighting systems can be effectively obtained with injection molded thermoplastic polymer heat sinks. By appropriately designing the cooler geometry, differences in thermal conductivity between compound and metals can be offset, especially under natural convection.
