The recent European Regulation No. 1907/2006 approved 18th December 2006, relative to the registration, evaluation, authorization and restriction of chemical substances, better known as REACh, will involve, starting from June 2007, thousands of chemical companies, besides hundreds of thousands of downstream users, which will be directly or indirectly affected.

LATI S.p.A., always up to date and in compliance with its commitment to continuous improvement with respect to safety, employee health and environmental protection, as well as to the responsible management of the product during its entire life cycle, has identified and is developing a series of actions in preparation for the REACh impact.

In this perspective, LATI S.p.A. is investing substantially in communication, internal and external (suppliers and customers), in the development of a list of substances which could be affected by REACh regulations, in the evaluation of available information and in the potential request for integration, in the creation of a multidisciplinary work group (with regard to toxicological and safety evaluations, to risk evaluation and to the evaluation of commercial impact), in the definition of the identified uses of substances and of whatever could be necessary for the implementation of the new Regulation.

For any queries concerning the aspects of REACh, suppliers and customers are invited to contact LATI S.p.A. through its Research & Development service.
